I love to roam—to wander at will.
The open road is my friend, and the call to hit the road is one that I cannot easily ignore. I have a bad case of wanderlust.
A gentle ache for all the places I have yet to explore. A desire for the intense connections I’ll make on the road. The scent of adventure on the wind.
You see, I was born wild. I will die free. In between, I wander.
I left behind my legal career and homeland of England in 2011 to begin again in Andalucía, Spain, where I embrace a different way of living and a life of wandering.
My wanderings lead me to the Camino de Santiago, a network of hiking trails that run throughout Europe, yet they are so much more than that. To walk a Camino de Santiago is to undertake a spiritual adventure and a journey of a lifetime. It is an opportunity to meet so many people from around the world.
I walked the Camino Frances in 2016 and Camino Coastal Portuguese in 2018. The Camino experience showed me a different way of living, as I embraced the lessons of “The Way of Saint James.” So much so that upon arriving in Santiago de Compostela in 2018, I changed my life in a heartbeat to follow my dream of becoming a Camino de Santiago guide. I moved to the Portuguese Camino city of Porto and then onto the Portuguese Camino in 2020.
The Camino de Santiago is the perfect place to satisfy my thirst to wander and adventure while embracing a different way of being based on heart-centred living. A way of being that the Camino de Santiago teaches to all who walk the sacred paths. I share the life lessons learnt, Camino stories, and practical advice for pilgrims walking the Camino de Santiago in my guidebook, A Wild Woman’s Guide To The Camino De Santiago and my Wild Camino blog.
The Camino de Santiago is my idea of heaven for all these reasons. I share my Camino story and adventures in my book The Adventures of a Wild Woman on the Camino de Santiago: Life Rewards The Brave.
