Meet Samantha

Welcome to Wild Camino!

Buen Camino!

I’m Samantha, a Camino guide and owner of Wild Camino. I thought I would share a little more about myself so you can get to know me.

I love to roam—to wander at will.

The open road is my friend, and the call to hit the road is one that I cannot easily ignore. I have a bad case of wanderlust.

A gentle ache for all the places I have yet to explore. A desire for the intense connections I’ll make on the road. The scent of adventure on the wind.

You see, I was born wild. I will die free. In between, I wander.

I left behind my legal career and my homeland of England in 2011 to begin again in Andalucía, Spain, where I embraced a different way of living and a life of wandering.

My wanderings eventually led me to the Camino de Santiago—a network of ancient pilgrimage trails that cross Europe. Yet, the Camino is so much more than a collection of walking routes.

To walk a Camino de Santiago is to embark on an adventure and, for many, a deeply personal or spiritual journey. It is an opportunity to slow down, live simply and meet people from all over the world.

I walked my first Camino Francés in 2016, followed by the Portuguese Coastal Camino in 2018. Those experiences showed me a different way of living. So much so that, upon arriving in Santiago de Compostela in 2018, I decided to change my life once again and follow my dream of becoming a Camino de Santiago guide.

I moved to Porto in 2018 and later lived directly on the Portuguese Camino, spending three years immersed in Camino life.

Since that first Camino, I have returned to the trails again and again, walking routes including the Camino Francés, Portuguese Coastal and Central Caminos, Camino Inglés, Camino Finisterre y Muxía, Camino Mozárabe and Via de la Plata.

Every Camino has taught me something new—not only about the routes themselves, but about what it means to be a pilgrim.

Today, through Wild Camino, I use that experience to help other pilgrims plan their own self-guided Camino adventures.

Whether you’re dreaming about your first Camino, wondering which route is right for you, or feeling overwhelmed by all the planning, I’m here to help make your Camino dream a reality.

Because I know what it feels like when the Camino starts calling.

And sometimes, you simply have to follow.

If you are interested in working with me, check out my Wild Camino Itinerary Service page where you can contact me further.

Feel free to check out my Testimonials from previous pilgrims.

I believe the Camino de Santiago is the perfect place to satisfy a thirst for wandering and adventure while embracing a more heart-centred way of living — a way of being that the Camino quietly teaches to all who walk its sacred paths.

Through my work, I share the lessons I have learned, Camino stories, practical pilgrimage advice, and inspiration for those preparing to walk their own Camino.

You can also explore my guidebook, A Wild Woman’s Guide To The Camino De Santiago, along with the Wild Camino blog, where I share everything pilgrims need to know before beginning their journey.

So, if you hear the call to wander — if you catch the scent of adventure on the breeze — perhaps it is time to pack your bag and begin your own Camino.

Go and discover just how blessed you are to experience life feeling wild, free, and fully alive.
