Meet Samantha

About Samantha — Wild Camino

I love to roam — to wander at will.

The open road is my friend, and the call to wander is one I cannot easily ignore. I have a deep case of wanderlust — a gentle ache for all the places I have yet to explore, a longing for the connections made on the road, and the scent of adventure carried on the wind.

You see, I was born wild. I will die free. In between, I wander.

In 2011, I left behind my legal career and my homeland of England to begin a new life in Andalucía, Spain, where I embraced a slower, more intentional way of living — and a life of wandering.

My wanderings eventually led me to the Camino de Santiago.

The Camino is a network of ancient pilgrimage routes stretching across Europe, yet it is so much more than a hiking trail. To walk the Camino de Santiago is to embark upon a spiritual adventure and a journey of a lifetime. It is an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, embrace simplicity, and meet extraordinary people from all over the world.

I walked my first Camino — the Camino Francés — in 2016, followed by the Camino Portuguese Coastal Route in 2018. The Camino experience transformed my outlook on life so profoundly that upon arriving in Santiago de Compostela in 2018, I made the decision to follow my dream of becoming a Camino de Santiago guide.

Later that year, I moved to Porto, one of the great cities of the Portuguese Camino, before relocating onto the Portuguese Camino route itself in 2020 to work as a Camino guide.

Since then, I have continued walking and exploring different Camino routes, including:

  • The Portuguese Central Route
  • The Portuguese Coastal Route
  • The Camino Francés from León to Sarria (2021)
  • The Camino Francés, Camino Inglés, and Camino Finisterre y Muxía (2023)
  • The Camino Mozárabe through Southern Spain (2024)
  • The Via de la Plata from Seville to Salamanca and the Portuguese Coastal Route (2025)

Today, I live between the UK and Spain, helping pilgrims plan meaningful self-guided Caminos de Santiago. You can contact me via email at info@wildcamino.com for further information. Feel free to check out my Testimonials from previous pilgrims.

I believe the Camino de Santiago is the perfect place to satisfy a thirst for wandering and adventure while embracing a more heart-centred way of living — a way of being that the Camino quietly teaches to all who walk its sacred paths.

Through my work, I share the lessons I have learned, Camino stories, practical pilgrimage advice, and inspiration for those preparing to walk their own Camino.

You can also explore my guidebook, A Wild Woman’s Guide To The Camino De Santiago, along with the Wild Camino blog, where I share everything pilgrims need to know before beginning their journey.

So, if you hear the call to wander — if you catch the scent of adventure on the breeze — perhaps it is time to pack your bag and begin your own Camino.

Go and discover just how blessed you are to experience life feeling wild, free, and fully alive.
